- You automatically accrue survivor's pension in addition to your own pension.
- In case of your death, your partner and children receive this monthly survivor's pension allowance from us. It is also referred to as partner pension and orphan's pension.
- Log in with your DigiD to check the amount your partner and children get upon your death. If the amount is insufficient, you can take out additional partner pension insurance until your partner gets AOW.
- If you do not have a partner on your pension date, we will automatically exchange the partner pension with a higher pension for yourself.
- Your partner is the person you are married or in a registered partnership with, or with whom you have a cohabitation contract.
- Your partner gets a life-long survivor's pension, or so-called partner pension.
- You children get survivor's pension, or orphan's pension, until they reach the age of 25.
- You do not have to register your partner and children with us when you are married or in a registered partnership. Upon your death, they will get a form to apply for survivor's pension. Make sure you do register your partner with us if you have a cohabitation contract.
- A portion of the partner pension will lapse if you stop accruing pension with us. This happens when you get a job outside of the sector.
- Did you work with a company that is not part of the metal and technology sector at the time of your death? If you were receiving unemployment or sickness benefits at the time of your death, following a job in the sector, your partner may be entitled to additional partner pension.
